How to use Sorex

Short, simple steps. No experience needed. Use the list on the left to jump to what you need.

Start here

Sorex is one place to ask questions, write, fix code, build websites and make pictures. You pick a model, type, and get an answer. Everything you do is saved to your account, so it is the same on the website and in the desktop app.

  1. Open sorex-ai.xyz/app and press Create an account. Enter your email and a password (at least 8 characters), confirm that you are 13 or older and accept the Terms, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
  2. We email you a short code. Type it in to confirm that the email is yours.
  3. You land in a chat. Type your question at the bottom and press Enter. That’s it.
New to this? Just type what you want in normal words, like “make a simple website for my bakery” or “why does this error happen?” You don’t need special commands.

Chatting

  • New chat: press New chat in the left sidebar (or Ctrl+N).
  • Add a file or screenshot: press + next to the text box, or drag a picture into it, or paste with Ctrl+V.
  • Change the model: press the model name at the bottom right of the text box.
  • Thinking: in that same menu, turn Thinking on for hard questions. Answers take longer but are more careful.
  • Context: how much of the conversation the AI remembers. Your plan sets the maximum (Free 256K, Pro 500K, Max 1M).
  • Plan idea: the Plan New Idea button makes the AI write a step-by-step plan first instead of answering straight away.
  • Multitask: send one question to several models at once and keep the best answer.

Which model should I use?

ModelPick it when…
Artic 2.7Your everyday choice. Fast, good at code, websites and understanding screenshots. Everyone gets it, including Free.
Artic 1.7You want the quickest possible answer (Pro and Max).
Artic 2.7 ProHarder problems that need more careful work (Pro and Max).
ChatGPT (OpenAI)You like ChatGPT’s style, or want to compare answers.
Gemini (Google)Long documents and pictures.
Claude (Anthropic)Careful writing and long code tasks (Pro and Max).
DeepSeekGood value for coding and maths.

Each name is its own model. When something goes wrong, the message names the model that failed, so you always know which one it was.

Pictures and voice

Make a picture

  1. On the website (not in the desktop app), press Image under the text box, then describe the picture, like “a logo for my coffee shop”.
  2. Wait a few seconds. The picture appears and is saved in Images, where you can download it.

Free gets 1 picture, Pro 5 a month, Max 150 a month.

Show Artic a picture

Add a screenshot, photo, chart or design and ask about it: “what does this error mean?”, “turn this design into a website”, “read the numbers in this chart”. Artic reads text and details in the picture.

Talk instead of typing

Press the microphone, say your question, and stop talking. Sorex writes it down and sends it. Your browser asks once for permission to use the microphone. Allow it. You can turn automatic sending off in Settings → General.

Code canvas

Every code block in an answer has a Canvas button. It opens a panel beside the chat where you can:

  • Edit the code.
  • Preview websites (HTML) and pictures (SVG) right away.
  • Run JavaScript and see the result.
  • Copy or download the file.

Previews run in a safe sandbox, so they can’t reach your account.

Limits reset by themselves. If you reach one, Sorex tells you when it frees up. The prices for 1 day, 3 days, 1 week and 1 month are on Settings → Plans.

How to pay (Bitcoin or Litecoin)

  1. Go to Settings → Plans, choose a plan and a length, and press Get.
  2. Pick Bitcoin or Litecoin. You see a QR code and the exact amount. Scan the code with your wallet app, or copy the address and amount. The price is locked for 30 minutes.
  3. Send the payment, then press I’ve sent it.
  4. Paste the transaction ID (TXID) from your wallet and press Check my payment. It is a long text of 64 letters and numbers.
  5. Before you pay you see a clear notice that it is a one-time payment with no automatic renewal, and you tick a box to accept the terms. Sorex checks the blockchain by itself. When the payment is confirmed you see Order complete with confetti, your plan turns on, and you get an email with your order key.
Send the exact amount shown, to the address shown, and only once. A payment that is too small, to the wrong address or older than your order can’t be accepted. Confirmation can take from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the network.

Desktop app (Windows)

  1. Open the Download page and get the installer for your computer.
  2. Run it and follow the install window: Welcome → Install → Finish.
  3. On the first start press Get started. Sign in with your email and password, or press Continue in your browser: if you are already signed in on the website, you only press Approve there.

Updates: when a new version exists, a window pops up. Press Install update and Sorex downloads it, installs it and restarts. You never have to reinstall by hand.

Code editor: create a new project or open a folder. The chat on the right (press Chat at the top to show or hide it) can read your files and suggest changes. Nothing changes until you accept it. Agent Window opens the full chat page.

Mac and Linux: builds appear on the download page when they are available.

Roblox Studio: in the desktop app open Roblox Studio and follow the steps shown to connect it. Artic knows Luau well.

Settings

  • Appearance: light, dark or system theme, chat width, text size, colour tint.
  • Monitor type: pick OLED for true black, VA if dark greys look smeared or too dark, or leave it on Standard. Brightness and Contrast fine-tune the rest. Sorex can’t measure your screen, so this is a preset, not full calibration.
  • Plans / Usage: what you have used and when limits reset.
  • Security: email codes at sign-in, recovery codes and password.

Staying safe

  • Sorex never shows API keys to your browser. They are stored encrypted on the server.
  • Every sign-in is confirmed with a code sent to your email.
  • Never share your password or order key, and never type your wallet’s secret words anywhere on Sorex. We never ask for them.
  • The AI follows safety rules that chat messages can’t change.

Fixing problems

Download page shows nothingThe owner has not uploaded the installers yet.
Windows warns when installingThe app is not code-signed yet. Choose More info → Run anyway.

For server owners

  1. Run the server: double-click Start Server.bat (it limits memory to 1 GB, good for a 4 GB server) or run node --max-old-space-size=1024 server.js (port 3000). Put it behind Caddy or nginx for HTTPS and your own domain.
  2. Register with the owner email (the one set in SOREX_ADMIN_EMAIL). That account becomes the admin.
  3. Open Settings → Account → Open admin and paste your API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek). They are encrypted at once.
  4. Payments: you receive Bitcoin and Litecoin straight to your wallets. Sorex confirms them on the blockchain and turns plans on by itself. Orders appear in the admin page, and you can approve or reject by hand.
  5. Updates: replace lib, public and server.js. Keep the data folder and .env.
  6. Desktop builds: put the files in public/downloads (Sorex-3.6.0-setup.exe and so on). The desktop app finds them and offers the update.
  7. Sign-in emails need SMTP_PASS (a Gmail app password) in .env.
